It's that time again where I randomly decide to draw some Terranaut art. This time I decided to do my very best, and even dabbled in some new shading techniques. I also upgraded Tara's equipment to better suit her dangerous environments.
There's a lot I have to say about this, but the short story is that I'm quite proud of the outcome, and I'm glad to be able to show you all what I can really do.
Look forward to more illustrations of this quality, but not too often, as these have a tendency of killing my hand.
For some reason my first impression is that I like her. Gotta say, I love the little details on the drill like the studs on the bit and the textured grips of her gear. And the turtleneck's fabric looks splendid, too. If I had to register a bit of criticism, it'd be that the hook looks a touch off, I think it's the ring attaching the hook to the handle she's gripping.

Anyways, I'm really digging the new shading style! It really compliments the determined look on her face! Also, why not just swap shading styles depending on what kind of a mood you're going for? Nobody ever said you have to shade everything the same way. Also, no complaints here! Looks perfect to me!

And I didn't change my shading style, I only applied more detail by adding a second shade of shades, and a second light source.
