I'm on a roll here!
Since I made the guide for the major life forms
, I decided it would only be proper to make a similar list for the humanoid races. Eidolons, Golems, and Geists are much less specific, so they won't be getting the same treatment.
Most bulk races were cut out, I merged the rhino and mole humanoids into the Argon race, and classified the Yentun (formerly the Yetifish, whom are now more like Yeticats) as a humanoid race.
I treated this list as if the races were for an MMORPG. Even all the classes are legitimate classes designed for this mythos. Here's an explanation of the more obscure classes:
Knight - Medium-armored warrior who weilds medium-length weapons.
Lancer - Medium-armored warrior who weilds long-length polearms and special Lancer spells.
Chaplain - Knight who uses magical spells and enchanted weapons under a certain element.
Samurai - Special knight who uses long-length swords and special Samurai spells.
Savant - Non-combat class who focuses in the studies of magic, science, and artifacts.
Artimer - One who tinkers with artifacts and uses/creates artifacts and artifact weapons (i.e.: a mechanic)
Golemancer - Sorcerer who uses Anima spells to conjure Golems and animate the dead.
Alchemist - Creator of supportive potions
Witch - Creator of deadly poisons
Saboteur - One who uses obstructive magic to trick and confuse foes
Druid - Sorcerer who uses Illusion magic to commune with and control Geists.
Bloodmancer - Sorcerer who uses their own life energy to cast dark arts spells.
Scoundrel - One who uses dirty fighting techniques
Backstabber - Stealth type that focuses on getting behind their opponent to strike critical blows.
I'm also planning to make race "character cards", covering the specifics of each humanoid race and their natural abilities - and including better illustrations of the races.
I think these races would make a pretty cool MMORPG. Sadly, that probably won't happen for Heartblade. Which race is your favorite? My personal favorite is the Lepid.
